Draft: the site owner still needs to fill in NEXT_PUBLIC_BUSINESS_NAME, NEXT_PUBLIC_CONTACT_EMAIL, NEXT_PUBLIC_LEGAL_JURISDICTION.
Terms of use
Effective October 12, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the owner of Paperlight (“we”) for using Paperlight. By using the site you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Paperlight.
Your words are yours
You keep every right to your writing, covers and pictures. Paperlight works on them inside your browser and gets no licence to them, because it never receives them. We will never use your work to train AI or for anything else.
What Paperlight does, and doesn’t promise
Paperlight lays out books to the published specifications of the printers and stores you choose, and checks the files you save against those rules. Printers and stores make their own decisions and change their rules from time to time, so we can’t guarantee that any file will be accepted. Always use the printer’s own previewer or proof before you publish. Features marked “beta” (such as the PDF/X converter) are still being proven.
You’re responsible for what you publish, and for keeping backups of your books: they live in your browser, and if your browser’s data is cleared they’re gone unless you’ve saved a backup.
Paperlight Pro
- Pro costs $24 a year and renews automatically each year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; you keep Pro until the end of the year you’ve paid for.
- Refunds are explained on the refunds page: in short, a full refund within 30 days of buying or renewing, no questions asked.
- If prices change, the new price applies from your next renewal, and we’ll tell you before then.
- Payments are processed by our payment provider, under its own terms.
Fair use
Please don’t try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, get around Pro, or use Paperlight to publish anything unlawful or that infringes someone else’s rights.
Liability
Paperlight is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost sales or printing costs), and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the previous twelve months. Nothing here limits rights you have that can’t be limited by law.
Changes and ending
We may update these terms; if a change matters, we’ll say so on the site before it applies. You can stop using Paperlight at any time. Your books stay in your browser either way.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where the owner of Paperlight is based. Questions: the contact address shown on this site.
